Today i received an email from adsense saying that Iam only using image and rich media (flash, videos etc.) ads on my website and that i should opt-in for text-ads also. According to the email, the publishers see an increase of almost 96% in their eCPM earnings, after they have adjusted their layouts and settings according to these emails. We will see about that.

The reason I use only image and rich media ads is because my website is kind of a video blog (where i explain all the videos in a neat 500-600 words paragraph). While the website will not be disclosed to preserve my earnings, i will disclose some facts :
1) I have daily visits of almost 5000+ which gives a page-view of about 700,000+ monthly.
2) My earnings in a month is close to $1500 with CTR of 2.32% and very less CPC.
3) Most of my visits comes from long-tail keywords or proper optimized pages (which i write almost every week based on current trend searches).
So basically my daily earnings is like $50 and on weekends is %60+. According to the email the publishers see an increase if they opt-in for both image and text ads. This maybe because text ads display more ads in the same space and hence the chances of people clicking the ads increases. I am sure most of the people may have already opted-in for ads like these, but it actually depends upon what kind of website you have. For pure content and long-page/posts text ads perform better because of the similarity in ads layout.
For video blogs however, image and rich ads work better because the images and videos somewhat complement the videos and images on the page. However i have opted-in for text-ads and i will update as to how the earnings have changed. I think i will keep it on till this weekend to make a fair judgement.
Tell me through comment whether you have actually opted-in for such changes or do you simply click on the unsubscribe link ?
